If you wish to immigrate to Prince Edward Island , then you have three options to choose from:
Application procedure
Once the candidate meets the eligibility requirements they must create a profile and fill all the information required accurately. Based on a ranking system, the candidate with the highest ranking will be invited to submit a complete application to the stream. Successful candidates will have to accept the provincial nomination on their IRCC online account.
Prince Edward Island express entry
Foreign nationals who are in the Express Entry pool and intend to live and work in Prince Edward Island will be eligible for PEI Express Entry.
Eligibility requirements
- Applicants must be registered in the federal Express Entry pool
- Must be eligible for at least one of three federal Economic programs Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class
Labour impact
Skilled workers and recent graduates who have a job offer from a PEI employer can leverage one of the labour impact streams to get permanent residency.The PEI Labour Impact category includes three streams:
- PEI Skilled Workers
- PEI Critical Worker
- PEI International Graduate
PEI Skilled Worker
Workers with experience in related skilled occupations and have been employed or recognised by an island employer can receive provincial nomination through one of the PEI Skilled Worker streams.
- <strong>Skilled Workers in PEI:</strong> Foreign nationals currently employed in PEI can apply for provincial nomination and fill the demand for skilled positions that cannot be met through the local labour force.
- <strong>Skilled Workers Outside Canada</strong>: Skilled workers who are currently outside of Canada and have received an NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B offer from an island employer can apply for this stream.
PEI Critical Workers
Workers with at least two years of experience in semi-skilled and unskilled occupations are eligible to apply for the Critical Worker stream.
PEI International Graduate
Recent graduates from an PEI approved post-secondary institution who are at present working in the island with a valid Post-Graduate Work Permit are eligible to apply for this stream.
Business impact
This stream attracts experienced business managers and entrepreneurs who wish to invest in businesses in the province. This would help improve the economy and generate job opportunities for other permanent residents.
PEI Work permit
The business impact has one stream that is PEI work permit. It allows eligible applicants to enter PEI on a temporary work permit and set up a business. If the business has been in functioning for at least one year, the applicant will receive a provincial nomination for permanent residency.
Eligibility requirements
- Have a minimum verifiable personal net worth of $600,000
- Have a minimum education of secondary school equivalent
- Be in the age group of 21-59 years at the time of application
- Have successfully completed a post‐secondary degree or diploma
- Have management skills and business ownership experience
- Have an interest to live and work in PEI
- Meet the minimum language requirements (CLB/NCLC 4)
