What are the steps I can take to begin the express entry process?
Depending on your eligibility for the Express Entry programs and submit your profile, you’ll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Step 1
Check your eligibility
- You must have at least one year skilled work experience, in the last 10 years of continuous full-time work experience
- Have received a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) seven in either English or French in an approved language test
- Completed post-secondary education that is assessed based on Canadian standards with an Education Credential Assessment

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is used to assess and score applications within the Express entry pool.

Fill out the online form
As the Express entry invitation to apply is valid for only 60 days, you should login to your account and fill the form as soon as possible so that you can keep a get all the information you need and check the documents required.
Step 4
Receive an invitation to apply
If you have sufficient CRS points, you will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). A 60 day deadline is provided to fill additional forms and submit your supporting documents.
Step 5
Get your documents ready
Once you have the Invitation to Apply (ITA), you are required to upload the requested supporting documents. Ensure that you are well prepared and have no problems gathering the documents.
